Board member hailwind-0 has managed to get an image portraying the new Takara-Tomy Buster Optimus Prime from the Revenge toyline. The figure is based on the normal Leader figure but has added boosters and parts on his back, a gun that can be hand held or attached as seen in the movie, and a new head with an exposed mouth.

Hobby Search has listed the following Transformers items for release later this year(mostly Revenge of The Fallen figures).
October: - RA-21 Bumblebee & Sam Witwicky
- RA-22 Sideswipe & Sergeant Epps
- RA-23 Arcee
- RD-17 Long Haul
- RD-18 Grindor
- Encore18 Skids
- A-02 Nissan FAIRLADY Z Megatron/Diamond Black
November - RA-24 Buster Optimus Prime
- RA-25 Skids & Mikaela Banes
Buster Optimus Prime is described as having lights and sounds, and mech-alive gimmicks. It is also listed for 8,190 yen with a discounted price of 7,371 yen(which is the cost of the leader class figures). Could this be a retooled version of the leader class figure with blasters, as shown in the beginning of the movie and video game? Or could it in fact be, a set of all new voyager class, Optimus Prime and Jetfire figures which can combine?
Amazon Japan has given us some new views of Revenge's chemical expert Swerve deluxe figure. Swerve is based on the deluxe Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept figure, being in fact a repaint of Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe sporting a new head.

Several members of our 2005 Boards are reporting spotting these cool collectible dog tags at Target stores. These are produced by Topps cards and are presumably what are being released for the US market in the place of the ones by Popbox collectibles that we reported on earlier this week. There are 24 different styles, plus rare rainbow foil chase tags. They come blindpacked so you might have to pick up a few packs to get the tag of the character you want, but at only $2.99 a pack, you can afford a couple of extras.

In an interview with the USA Today and mirrored on his own site, Michael Bay talks about the challenges of filming in Egypt, at the pyramids and the ruins of Petra. Naturally such a once in a lifetime event meant even the crew were awestruck (John Turturro is said to have had a tear in his eye at one point), so Michael Bay had to remind everyone they were there to shoot a movie! Check out the full article by clicking on the link above.
Transformers 3 is still a little way off yet, but here is a contest for everyone based in the UK - when you top up your mobile phone with T-Mobile, you can enter a draw to win Transformers prizes! The grand prize is a true once in a lifetime opportunity - a chance to do a walk-on role in Transformers 3! This is a truly amazing prize for any fan - a chance to be a part of the franchise that we all love!
We have read plenty of behind the scenes articles for Revenge of the Fallen, so here is one with a difference - Air Education and Training Command has posted an interview with a team of Altus Airmen who were brought in to work on Revenge of the Fallen, to look after the Air Force's C-17 Globemaster III aircraft that were featured prominently in the new film - but they soon ended up doing far more than just looking after their equipment. Read the full article for a very interesting and unique take on what went on behind the scenes of Revenge of the Fallen.
Bad news for those awaiting the Transformers: Art of the Movies art book. We have received word by way of 2005 Boards member Cuillere that this book is "postponed indefinitely" following an inquiry to the publisher, Titan Books. However Simon Furman, who looked after the writing chores, states in a post on his blog here that the book is "awaiting various approvals" and that "it is hoped we can get it out for later this year".
We will update with more information on this item as and when it becomes available.
2005 Boards member ChaoCatcher has spotted this pair of new Robot Heroes listings on Amazon.com. These listings, Shanghai Shootout and Desert Devastation will continue the Robot Heroes scenes series, and Desert Devastation will most likely be the set that will include the Robot Heroes Devastator figure we saw some time ago (pictured at left).
As always stay tuned for more information.
Popbox Collectibles have sent us images of their range of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen inspired merchandising. Their range of collectible items includes iron-on patches, collectible character coins, dog tags, and a variety of different key chains in different styles including character key chains, insignia danglers, and character bust key chains. Their license currently only covers Europe and Asia and so these items will only be available in those regions, with Asia receiving the carded items as shown, and Europe receiving blind-packed releases in foil bags.
TFW2005 has received official, high resolution images in and out of packaging for Wave 1 of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Robot Heroes Scene assortment. Official images in and out of package for these figures can be seen by clicking on the thumbnail to the left.
